These beautiful turtles live in the Millpond, beside my studio at the Alton Mill Arts Centre, in Alton, Ontario.

This was a commission, of a 55 Mill St., in Acton, Ontario as it was in early days, that was the childhood home of the purchaser. The finished oil on canvas piece is 14 by 18 inches.

This is a 16 by 30 inch oil on gallery wrapped canvas painting commissioned as a surprise to the parents from their now grown up children, when the parents sold the family home after 36 years.
The siblings decided on dad and the dog on the porch, mom gardening, and they wanted golf clubs that said Penn State on the bag. This was because the sons had scholarships for golf at Penn State, and one went on to be the head coach for golf at Penn State. A very personal family painting.

This painting is of a scene at Beach Meadows , Fralick Cove ,Nova Scotia, an area where I spent a lot of happy hours as a child.
The name comes from the type of clouds that you experience when there is a weather disturbance in a 24 hour period "that is sometimes wet, and sometimes dry", as the rhyme goes.

This is a black and white photo of a painting I did over 30 years ago. The painting is called Early's Farmhouse (the name of the family), and you can see back then how the strong detailed way that I paint bricks now is beginning.
Beautiful setting found in the Rockwood Conservation area. The heron kept coming out to look at me so I thought I should paint him in since it was his home.

I have always loved rocks, but most artists show rocks as a boring grey. When you look at this piece closely, you will see there is no grey used . The setting is from deep inside Arrowhead Provincial park in Huntsville.
I have enjoyed going to the Belfountain General Store since I was a child , on a Sunday drive stopping for ice cream.
The mountains have always been a favourite destination for me, and I feel the Athabaska Falls are particularly beautiful. The fine detail in this painting was accomplished using a triple zero brush.
A very popular painting. This scene is located near the entrance to the Algonquin Park, and the viewer can feel as if they are squishing into the muck at the front. Clients have shown me that they matted the giclee print with the salmon colour, or picking up on the cobalt blue, or various shades of green. Depending on the colour they select for the mat, it changes the mood of this piece.
for years this beach was a well kept secret from the throngs of tourists, and only used by the locals in Port Mouton, Nova Scotia. Unfortunately , the tourists have now found it and clog the highway so they can walk down through the path in the woods that empties out to this lovely area.
Still one of my favourite areas, and loved by hundreds ( even used in tv commercials) the Forks of the Credit is in Caledon, near Belfountain and is beautiful in any season. Fishermen also love the area.
The painting was a unique commission, that came to me as a number of tiny black and white elderly photos, which I had to painstakingly get the detail from and put together.
The little boy is the the senior who owns the painting, when he was a child with his pet calf. His aunt, grandfather and father also add to the fond memories of his home that now sits under Terminal Three at Toronto Pearson Airport.

On Joseph Street in Brampton, Ontario , is a small house that was once a church, and in behind is where I found the window in what had once been a stable. Absolutely love the character that the window displayed.

Ten pieces were selected for the top placement.

I became friends with A.Y. Jackson and visited him several times at his home at the McMichael Centre before he passed away.
This was a wonderful exhibition in Ottawa where selected artists from each province were brought together for a special event.

Around the end of 1989, and beginning of 1990, there was a lot of discussion in the editorials of the newspapers regarding purchasing artwork for the "new" Brampton City Hall. This painting was a commission from Peel Regional Police in 2009, of the station that they were closing , and now hangs in their new 21 Division station. Here you see me with (at the time) Police Chief Metcalfe, and Inspector MacDonald after the painting was hung in a main area so all the officers could enjoy it.

In my studio with Hockey Great Rick Nash, with the painting of his childhood home that I was commissioned to do.
Rick has been on the Olympic Gold Medal winning hockey team. Presently plays for New York but previously was Captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
